Hide completed tasks (web / mobile app) When viewing project tasks and subtasks it shows both active and completed tasks. Completed tasks have the circle filled with a check and are darkened on web and crossed out and darkened on mobile, but still visible. Group your tasks with a heading. Start the task name with an asterisk followed by a space. It turns out that using an asterisk in Todoist can lead to some interesting results! By mistake, I found out when automatically importing a task from Slack to Todoist via Zapier (that’s another post for another time!) that having an asterisk, “.”, at the start of your task did something interesting. By having that asterisk there, it essentially made a task that could not be completed!

Todoist is a great app for many reasons – but some of the features can be difficult to find.

Viewing completed tasks is one of those features that took me some time to figure out and I get asked how to view completed tasks from time to time.

However, if you aren’t a premium user you are somewhat limited as you cannot see ALL completed tasks.

That shouldn’t stop you from using this great app though, and if you’re a productivity oriented person who likes to use the method of completed task review one a daily or weekly basis you should really ante up for the premium app – it’s a couple of dollars per month and well worth it.
